Beyond Banking: Mineral Fabrication's Journey with Grant County Bank

For over 40 years, Mineral Fabrication (MinFab) has been a heavy hitter in the general contracting world, serving diverse industries across the Midwest and Eastern United States. From building 100,000 square foot buildings to manufacturing parts for NASA, MinFab is a go-to contractor for the big lifts.

Sustaining this caliber of performance requires a trusted financial partner to help take projects over the finish line, though—and after experiencing service that did not match that of MinFab at another financial institution, the right partner was found in Grant County Bank nearly a decade ago.

We met up with the Vice President of MinFab, Jason Hale, to learn more about how Grant County Bank has been instrumental in keeping their projects on track.

Q: What type of work does Mineral Fabrications focus on?
Jason
: We’re a family-owned contracting business with around 80 to 100 employees. Our main focus is on industrial projects, so we work across various industries to deliver the right construction solutions they need.

Q: What’s your role in the company?
Jason
: I’m the Vice President, and I’ve been with the company since 2001.

Q: When did your relationship with Grant County Bank begin?
Jason
: We started working with Grant County Bank in 2015 when we needed a reliable lending partner. They were local, and we’d done business with them before. They helped us secure financing quickly when we needed it, so we took the opportunity to build a lasting relationship. Where we are today is because of their help.

Q: You previously worked with a larger bank. How does Grant County Bank compare?
Jason
: With Grant County Bank, the experience is much more personal. At the larger bank, we felt like just a number. Here, we’re on a first-name basis, and they really make you feel like part of a community.

Q: Do you know the team at Grant County Bank personally?
Jason
: Yes, absolutely. I’ve built a relationship with Tracy Kesner, Commercial Lender in the Keyser office, along with many of the tellers at our local Keyser office. It’s a friendly place where we know everyone by name.

Q: What kind of support has Grant County provided for your business?
Jason
: They’ve helped us finance our equipment and offer loans that keep our operations moving forward. For example, they financed a state-of-the-art cutting torch and a thousand-ton press brake, both of which are used almost every day.

Q: How has Grant County Bank helped your business grow?
Jason
: They’re very responsive to our needs. Whether it’s equipment or machinery, they’re quick to assist and provide financing. Their support has been key in keeping our operations and growth on track.

Q: What would you say to other businesses considering a partnership with Grant County Bank?
Jason
: I’d encourage any business to give them a chance. They’re accommodating, easy to work with, and genuinely good people.
